2026-02-13.1_ambiguity - empathy - marxists

what many marxists lack (among other things) is the ability/capacity to analyze, with empathy, the ambiguity of lived experiences & the concepts & strategies that arise from them.
often this can be connected to a wrong-footed analysis & belief regarding the unfolding/creation of history & especially who makes it happen.
if all history is the history of class struggles, we must also add that there is no class without class struggle. and it is fundamentally the people – in their various forms and with their ambiguous experiences & beliefs – that (can) create class struggles, and therefore history. understanding and drawing the given ambiguities of the material, lived (& often mystified) experiences of the people out and then into the direction of struggle and solidarity should be the focus. but one will never get there without empathetic and nuanced analysis.
